A Few Exciting things happening…….

This is a great time to be part of Trinity as there is so much happening now as we head into the end of this ministry year and into the new one.  I want to let you know of a few great opportunities for you…..

1. As you know, our Pastor Candace has taken on a new initiative to help Trinity be more On Mission.   She has established a blog which posts many stories of what is happening both locally and globablly. Please visit it to read more ….www.TrinityOnMission.wordpress.com

2.   Songs of Freedom  Friday, June 19th at 7:00 pm in the Collegium! Tickets $10 at the door

This is one of the last fundraisers for our Freedom 151 team and it will be a great night of music with a variety of awesome artists. This is open to any age, not just college kids.:)

Musicians include (in order of performance):
Brenda Alguire,
Josh Smith,
Marshall Heppner,
Gyula Schweigert,
Greg Ramsden,
Jennifer Kerr,
Mike Kulyk

As many of you are well aware, Simon Ng, our Pastor of Junior High Ministries, has been working with his youth to reach the goal of raising $150,000.00 for International Justice Mission. Yes, you did read that right- One hundred, fifty thousand dollars. Basically for every 150 youth members, they’re trying to raise $1000.00. One thousand dollars is the amount of money it takes to release one slave from slavery. If you’re not familiar with IJM please check out their website at www.freedom151.com – incredible organization.

Lets help with this initiative by purchasing a ticket to this Great Music Festival!

3. June 28 – Celebration Service and Baptism.

We will come together as one faith community at 10am for a celebration of what God has done through us this past ministry year.  We’ll then head straight over to City Park for a picnic and baptism. The action in City Park starts at 12noon.

Helping you stay informed……..

Summer Connections…

Well, it feels like summer is on the way with the warm weather arriving.  Yeh!  Doesn’t it feel good?!  I am sure ready for it!

As spring winds down and summer fast approaches, our schedules change a bit.  School will soon be finishing and many of you have made vacation plans for the summer.  We, here in the Okanagan, tend to slow down quite a few notches, and enjoy the beauty around us. With that, our schedules may open up for us to connect with others over coffee, at the beach, or in the park.  If you’d like to stay connected with women, check out our ’summer connections’ page on this blog site for opportunities to connect with one another in the next few months.

Looking forward to seeing you out and about this summer!!

We’re on mission…..Operation Baby Bottle!

What is Operation Baby Bottle?

In Canada, over 115,000 abortions are recorded every year. In the united states more than 1,200,000 abortions are recorded yearly.

Operation Baby Bottle is a fundraiser supporting the work of Crisis Pregnancy Centres in North America. Many women with an unplanned pregnancy believe abortion is their only option, but local crisis pregnancy centres offer hope, help, and support for these women.

How Can I Be A Part?

Beginning Mother’s Day, bottles are available to be picked up at the Womens Ministry Area in the lobby of Trinity Baptist. These bottles are then filled with spare change, cash and cheques until Father’s Day, when they are collected.

It’s as simple as that! Just pick up a bottle, fill it and return it!

Just a reminder…..

Hi gals,

Just wanted to remind you about the Focus Groups happening here at Trinity this week.  Pastor Wayne and the lead team are wanting your input as we revisit and reset our Vision, Mission and Core Values as a church.

Focus groups meet:

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night – April 21,22,23 at 6:30-8 pm in the lower hopitality room.  Childcare is available on Wednesday night.

If you have been attending Fuel on Wednesday nights, classes are on for this week, so plan to attend the focus group on either Tuesday or Thursday.

We are excited to see where God is taking us and what He is calling us to as a faith community in the coming years.  Your input is valuable.

Looking forward to seeing you there..

Town Hall Meeting…

Hi Everyone,

Last year at this time Pastor Wayne held a number of home gatherings and you may or may not have been a part of one of them.  At that time he was looking to hear about life at Trinity and get a better feel for it.  A lot of valuable insight was gained and he has been using it to move us forward as a faith community.  We have seen changes and growth here at Trinity in this past year for sure.

However, there is nothing more significant to bring about change in our church than the process we are in the middle of right now to renew our Vision and Core Values.  You’ve heard Wayne mention this process over the last number of weeks in our weekend services.

So, I want to invite you participate in the Vision and Core Values discovery process – in two ways.

First , Please attend the Town Hall meeting April 15th (6:30pm Lower Hospitality).  This meeting will fill you in on all the big questions you might have around this process… Why we are re-evaluating our Vision/Core values… What does the process look like… How can I be involved AND there will be opportunity to ask other questions.
**Please note that this Town Hall meeting is held in place of FUEL this week AND there are child programs provided.

Second, Please attend 1 of 3 Focus Groups held on April 21, 22, and 23 (6:30pm Lower Hospitality).  These Focus Groups are designed for you to express your thoughts and ideas to shape our Vision/Core Values.  Everyone will be seated around tables and there will be facilitators and scribes to hear and record your thoughts and ideas around renewing our Vision and Core Values.  We value and want your participation.
**Child programs will be available ONLY on Wednesday – 22nd as FUEL will resume on the 22nd.

Anticipating where God is taking us togther,

Spring …what are you hoping for?

So Spring officially arrives tomorrow morning.  Does not feel like spring! I don’t see a lot of ’spring’ in the air. I did hear birds in the air this morning, which was a pleasant reminder that it is on it’s way. Spring brings to a lot of us, something new.  You feel that it is the start of great things to come.  Some of us look forward to a new outfit, a new hair-do, or just something to get that ‘ball’ rolling quicker.  I am eagerly anticipating what Spring will bring for me.  What ’something new’ does God have in store for me, my family, my friends, our church?  What are you hoping for this Spring? Maybe you need something to kick start you into spring…..

Here are a few opportunities and dates to mark on your calendar….

Trinity Women’s Book Club – Thursday, March 26, 7:30 at Moxies.  Check the Book Club Page for more details.

FUEL- next round starts Wednesday April 1 with dinner at 5:30 and courses starting at 6:30.  Check out the new Fuel brochure available this weekend in the lobby here at Trinity.

Morning Edition Spring Session begins April 2 – 9-11am. Check the Morning Edition page for course options and more information.

Looking forward to what God has in store for each of us this spring!
